| An Exhibition of Polish Memorabilia from the Royal Collection |
|
This model of the Shipyard Workers' Memorial, Gdansk, was offered to The Queen by Lech Walesa in the course of the visit to Poland by the Prime Minister (Margaret Thatcher) in 1988. The Memorial itself had been designed and erected by the shipyard workers in the early 1980s, in memory of those who had died in 1970. The model was delivered to The Queen on the Prime Minister's return to England
